Devotions for week of April 19

Posted on Sun, Apr 19, 2015

Begin by reading the affirmation. Read the assigned Psalm for the week once or twice and take a few moments to center yourself on God, relaxing and paying close attention to your breathing. Pray for yourself and others, allowing time for God to place others in your thoughts. Read the day's assigned Scripture slowly and reflectively, perhaps more than once, taking time to allow thoughts and images to form in your mind. Reflect on the Scripture, perhaps writing in your journal. Close with the statement of response.

Affirmation: Then the Lord turned to him and said, "Go in this might of yours and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian. I hereby commission you." Judges 6: 14

Psalm 150

Sunday: John 21: 1-19

Monday: John 20: 19-23

Tuesday:  Deuteronomy 31: 7-8

Wednesday: Genesis 15: 1-6

Thursday: Matthew 10: 26-31

Friday: Luke 5: 1-11

Saturday: Saturday: Philippians 1: 12-14

My response:  So: Gidion took 10 of his servants and did as the Lord had told him; but because he was too afraid of his family and townspeople to do it by day, he did it by night. (Judges 6: 27)
